The Empowerment Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, was created and privately funded by DSSI's president. The mission of this philanthropic venture is to support the inner-city community by providing personal, educational, and economic growth to individuals who are economically and educationally disadvantaged. This is achieved through funds donated by the Empowerment Foundation to designated organizations who provide training and development opportunities.

The Academy Internship Program, a school-to-work business partnership between DSSI and local public schools, is an alliance that contributes to the growth and education of students. Our participation in this program helps prepare high school students for careers in business, manufacturing, engineering, and skilled trades through mentoring opportunities such as internships.
