Strategic Sourcing Team

We have assembled a team of professionals that are highly experienced and expert in the product categories they represent. This allows them to:

Identify, understand and appreciate the unique requirements of our individual customer locations;
Define the overall buying/sourcing strategy for substantial categories of spend;
Negotiate the long term contract arrangements with the preferred supply base including price change requests;
Sourcing to support customer launches and sourcing projects;
Support customers efforts to define and implement standards;
Include the development of diverse suppliers into overall commodity strategy;
Monitor supplier performance for systemic issues and/or success stories. Mentor suppliers toward Premier Supplier status. Handle executive level meetings with key suppliers and potential new suppliers;
Work with client management to eliminate any client program gaps either by resolving the issues with the preferred supplier, taking on political based resistance with the client, or resolving the sourcing gap; and,
Ownership of catalog quality.

Sourcing more than 2.5 million items across 52 commodity categories is just the beginning; we actively manage price points on behalf of our customers. Our team takes the job of managing our customer price points very seriously. As a result, over the last 6 years, our price points have outperformed the Producer Price Index for intermediate materials, supplies and components by nearly 40% to the benefit of all of our customers.

DSSI employs a comprehensive supplier management program that allows us to classify suppliers within one of four designations including Premier, Preferred, Primary and General. These supplier designations are achieved through consistent performance against specific criteria within the following categories:
